Classes specifics
The course is conducted live, with classes held once a month: Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Additionally, twice a year (in February and June), there is a weekend session in Warsaw, Poland, for those who can attend in person. Others can participate online during these sessions. The entire course comprises a total of 130 hours of lectures.
Why is the course interdisciplinary?
Because a film director should not only be knowledgeable in Mise-en-scène and working with actors but also in screenwriting, cinematography, camera techniques, film editing, and elements of film music.
Each of these subjects will be taught by a different tutor – a specialist in their field, with years of practical experience, professional education, and films that have won awards at recognized film festivals around the globe.
Classes run from November to June
The program will begin on November 8th, 2024, and conclude at the end of June 2025. During the summer (July-September 2025), you are required to create a documentary or a fiction film with a runtime of 5 to 21 minutes (or longer if the budget allows). The course will conclude with an exam, during which the tutors will watch your film and assign a grade. If you fail the exam, you must make the corrections suggested by the tutors and resubmit the film for review. Upon passing the exam with a positive grade, you will receive a certificate of successful course completion.
